My fellow Flux author Stefanie Lyons (DATING DOWN, April 2015) tagged me in this entertaining little game. Check out my Tumblr post on Ten Bad Alternate Titles for ZEROBOXER.

ZEROBOXER was named a 2015 selection by the Junior Library Guild. This is awesome because the JLG picks only a few titles each season to recommend and promote to libraries around the country. Needless to say, I’m very happy and honored.
I’m particularly stoked by the way the JLG describes the book. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Genetically modified superhumans. High-stakes zero-gravity fighting championships. Earth/Mars political strife. Carr Luka, seventeen, trapped in the middle.
In a guest post on YA Misfits, I offer advice to writers on how to write fight scenes that pack more punch. Check it out here.
I will be at ALA Midwinter in Chicago, January 30-February 3, 2015. Here’s what I’ll be up to:
Saturday, 11am – We Need Diverse Books panel on the PopTop Stage, with members of WNDB and fellow 2015 debut authors
Saturday, 1pm – Signing session in the Flux booth
Saturday 3pm – Dark Fantasy & Science Fiction panel on the PopTop Stage, with an all-star cast of Auden D. Johnson, Ken Liu, and Sabaa Tahir. (does this not sound awesome?!)

No, I don’t actually know anything about simian feces. Children’s book author Amitha Knight interviews me on her blog, Monkey Poop, as part of her series on Asian American authors. Read it here.
The Portland Film Festival runs from August 26-September 1, and is chock full of programming and great events. I’ll be joining fellow science fiction writers Daniel Wilson, Ted Chiang, Sara B. Cooper, and William Hertling, and Dr. Andrew Duchon, on August 30 at 1:30pm, at the 5th Avenue Cinema for a panel discussion on science fiction, film, and technology.
Here’s a post on the Fearless Fifteeners blog about what I’m working on and how I write, as part of the #MyWritingProcess blog hop. Read it here.
